PASTORAL ADMONITION TO THE UCCP FAITHFUL

PASTORAL ADMONITION TO THE UCCP FAITHFUL

We would like to admonish Conference Ministers, Church Workers and the faithful to live in the truth of our being created in the image of God. The defamatory accusations and false witness against fellow members of the Church are grave misconduct and put persons in harm’s way. Red tagging and false accusations lead to serious threat to life. These acts cannot be condoned. We shall be taking legal actions against these persons who are maligning the integrity of the Church and putting fellow Church workers in danger with sustained red tagging.

We seriously and reflectively take this 50th year commemoration of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines, for we have been striving to be faithful to God in Christ, guided by the vision of the kingdom of God, and strengthened in hope for the real experience of the full and meaningful life with God and our neighbors. We are praying for justice and peace to reign in our country and never again should we be subjected to Martial Law or authoritarian regime.

SUMMONED TO BE FAITHFUL TO GOD’S MISSION

SUMMONED TO BE FAITHFUL TO GOD’S MISSION

Mission is a proceeding life and witness of the UCCP expressed in varied ministries being carried out. Its concept of mission goes beyond the faithful proclamation of the Gospel of God’s reign, but extends to its readiness to be in solidarity with the struggles of the basic sectors wanting to be free from the shackles of poverty and oppression. This eventual renewal and transformation of God’s creation is our vision and action.
