We urge our Church members to thwart the destructive schemes of those who have filed the perjury case with the apparent goading of the State and its agencies and forces who are intolerant of dissent and afraid of the truth.
“Peace on earth, goodwill to all people,” is the message of the angels to the shepherds keeping their flock at night, announcing the birth of Jesus, the newborn king more than two thousand years ago. Even today and in the coming years, we will continue to announce that peace based on justice is possible, social justice is attainable, compassion and love can still be actively expressed confronting the demonic powers and the destructive impact of both natural and human caused disasters.
With this statement, we attest to the consistency of our faith imperatives ascribed to our Statement of Faith and the Declaration of Principles in the Constitution and By-Laws and the very teachings of Jesus Christ, our Savior. There is a continuous Biblico-theological and ethical affirmation that cannot be stifled or repressed. Regardless of who are those at the helm of political and economic power in the country and the world, the Church should not be subsumed by powers and principalities. The present situation in the country under the present dispensation after 100 days of Marcos, Jr. and Sarah Duterte leadership has been marred by high inflation rate, impacting the quality of life of vulnerable sectors of society comprising not less than 80 percent of the 110 million population. High cost of food and commodities which consequently result to adverse income deficiency, hunger and further deprivation.
