REBUILDING AND RESTORING WITH HOPE

REBUILDING AND RESTORING WITH HOPE

With this statement, we attest to the consistency of our faith imperatives ascribed to our Statement of Faith and the Declaration of Principles in the Constitution and By-Laws and the very teachings of Jesus Christ, our Savior. There is a continuous Biblico-theological and ethical affirmation that cannot be stifled or repressed. Regardless of who are those at the helm of political and economic power in the country and the world, the Church should not be subsumed by powers and principalities. The present situation in the country under the present dispensation after 100 days of Marcos, Jr. and Sarah Duterte leadership has been marred by high inflation rate, impacting the quality of life of vulnerable sectors of society comprising not less than 80 percent of the 110 million population. High cost of food and commodities which consequently result to adverse income deficiency, hunger and further deprivation.

PASTORAL ADMONITION TO THE UCCP FAITHFUL

We would like to admonish Conference Ministers, Church Workers and the faithful to live in the truth of our being created in the image of God. The defamatory accusations and false witness against fellow members of the Church are grave misconduct and put persons in harm’s way. Red tagging and false accusations lead to serious threat to life. These acts cannot be condoned. We shall be taking legal actions against these persons who are maligning the integrity of the Church and putting fellow Church workers in danger with sustained red tagging.

LET FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND PEACE BLOSSOM IN OUR MINDS AND IN SOCIETY, UPHOLD HUMAN DIGNITY AND PROTECT HUMAN RIGHTS!

We seriously and reflectively take this 50th year commemoration of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines, for we have been striving to be faithful to God in Christ, guided by the vision of the kingdom of God, and strengthened in hope for the real experience of the full and meaningful life with God and our neighbors. We are praying for justice and peace to reign in our country and never again should we be subjected to Martial Law or authoritarian regime.
