LET FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND PEACE REIGN IN OUR LAND!

LET FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND PEACE REIGN IN OUR LAND!

On this occasion, we pray with all Christian faithful that freedom that comes from Christ, enable us to pursue and exemplify the kind of life God intends for all people, within and outside the Church. May we strengthen our wills against the lure of the flesh–the sinful state of human beings, a power in opposition to the Spirit, so that the freedom we have will bring us closer to our people and to God in Jesus Christ. Amen.

AN ODE TO THE CRY AND STRUGGLE FOR DECENT LIVING WAGES

AN ODE TO THE CRY AND STRUGGLE FOR DECENT LIVING WAGES

We reiterate what was spoken to the Church people to support trade unions in 1970, expounded in the General Assembly Statement on Social Concerns, and to provide participation and leadership necessary to achieving the goals and freedom and justice in society. More than ever, the Church must actively engage itself in the of bringing about social justice.

ENOUGH OF DECEPTION, CONSPIRACY, AND AGGRESSION

ENOUGH OF DECEPTION, CONSPIRACY, AND AGGRESSION

The Council of Bishops is alarmed of the threat of high-tech military war of aggression by China, the United States, Japan and other countries. The war rehearsals are staged on the territories of the less powerful countries such as the Philippines and Taiwan. There is a surmounting level of fear of losing our sovereignty and identity as a people. The imagery of the peaceable reign of God in the region and the entire world that has emboldened our faith affirmation and our faith expression seems a farfetched experience of nations that are objects of imperial control.
