AGUSAN DISTRICT CONFERENCE CELEBRATES FESTIVAL OF FAITH AND THANKSGIVING DAY

AGUSAN DISTRICT CONFERENCE FESTIVAL OF FAITH AND THANKSGIVING DAY

The Agusan District Conference (ADC) Festival of faith and Thanksgiving Day was held at the Agusan National High School Gym in Butuan City last November 19, 2016. The Festival of Faith is the culmination activity of the 5 year stewardship campaign of Agusan District Conference. The program started EY 2012. The ADC Festival of Faith is the first event to happen in 48 years since 1968 when the Agusan and Surigao conferences decided to part and become two conferences.

The recently concluded ADC Festival of Faith was attended by 76 churches from Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur and Butuan city areas. The estimated number of participants were more than 3,000 thus occupying the 3 basketball court –  wide covered Gym of Agusan National High School in Butuan City.

Bishop Reuel Norman O. Marigza, UCCP General Secretary, was the guest preacher. The Bishop reminded all members of the church to always be H.O.T. Honest, Obedient and Trustworthy, inspired by the text Malachi 3:6 – 10. Other attendees were Bishop Hamuel Tequis of SEMJA along with his staff Mico Salem; Bishop Melzar Labuntog of NORWEMJA, with his staff Rev. Lazaro and Lotlot, Rev. Jerry San Francisco, Bishop Emeritus Constante D. Claro, Bishop Emeritus Modesto Villasanta; CM Levi Laurente of NDDC and CM Lino Magpatoc of SDDC. Visitors who also gave greetings are the ADC Partners from Koblenz Germany, the Rev. Wilfried Neusel, Rev. Stefanie Martin and Dr. Constanze Amescamp.

The 5 year stewardship campaign resulted in the increase of Wider Mission Support from local churches every year since 2012. The local churches understand the holistic Ministry of the church so that they actively participated not only in giving to all the programs and activities that the conference initiated. The local churches understand the sharing of Wider Mission Support to the National Office and to the Conference.

The Agusan District Conference “extend our praises and thanks most of all to our Almighty God. He has been the source of what we have achieved as a conference in the last 5 years. Thank you also to all the Pastors who continuously encourage our church members to participate in such celebration; to all the church members who joined the caravan and motorcade and shared one day of their five years salary.
