UCCP National Secretariat Gets Its Newly-Renovated Offices Blessed

March 28, 2017 marked the blessing of the newly renovated second floor of the UCCP National Secretariat. It was a day of fellowship and gathering of guests from the various judicatories, conferences, local churches and partners of the UCCP as they joined the National Secretariat management and staff in celebrating another milestone in the history of the church. The UCCP General Secretary, Bishop Reuel Marigza, welcomed everyone and shared a brief history of the National Secretariat’s residency in 877 EDSA, in connection with the historical importance of the address. He expressed his delight in the improvements made in the office which he will be passing on to his successor at the end of his term.

CALL TO ACTION ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION 2017

It is now 2017, and people are marching. Women, their husbands, children and fathers all around the world are marching for women who still make less money than men for the same work, for migrant families who live in fear of being deported and torn from their children; for undocumented workers abused, exploited, and burned in factories owned and operated by foreigners; for families left behind by victims of a cruel war on drugs; for families who continue to pushed in the pit of poverty without hope and opportunity to rise up; for victims of extra judicial killings and human rights abuses; for victims of modern day slavery; and to raise awareness for women in places who have few, if any, rights. Every march, every right fought for, that women died for, was for the right we now enjoy but often take for granted. Don’t let all those who died, the fighting and suffering be for naught.

SAVE THE LIFE OF JENNIFER DALQUEZ

Jennifer Dalquez, like many migrant workers, left the Philippines to seek a better life for her family, yet her very own life now hangs in the balance in the United Arab Emirates. She was arrested on December 12, 2014 for murder and was sentenced to death. Her case is on appeal. The promulgation of the decision was postponed to March 27 this year.
