In Memoriam: Sen. Jovito R. Salonga, 1910-2016

The Filipino nation, the UCCP and the ecumenical movement lost a patriot, an incorruptible leader, a statesman, and a lay leader.

A Pastor’s Kid, a guerrilla during WWII, imprisoned during the war & during the Martial Law, Sen. Jovito R. Salonga entered politics, was known as Mr. Clean for his unstained service, he lead the Senate which rejected the renewal of the US Bases in the Philippines.

He was President of the 1993 UCCP Constitutional Convention.

The UCCP salutes you for a life well-lived!
